A Unique Working Experience

Each role offered through the Disney College Program provides participants with a unique and diverse learning and working experience. Participants receive an hourly rate of $8.68 - $11.50 depending on the role they are selected for. From costumes to role responsibilities, you'll find that no two jobs are the same. However, all participants will have the opportunity to develop communication skills, problem-solving skills, and work on confidence and self-reliance.

After completing the program, participants are eligible to apply for another role with the Disney College Program or interview for a Disney Professional Internship, which gives them the opportunity to work in a field that more closely aligns with their major.

A large number of Disney Professional Internships require previous participation in the Disney College Program because they require in-depth knowledge of resort operations. Disney Professional Internships are available at the Walt Disney World® Resort, the Disneyland® Resort, and Walt Disney Imagineering.

Availability

Throughout the duration of your program, you are expected to be fully available and can anticipate working an average of 28-32 hours per week. Since the Disneyland® Resort operates 24 hours a day, your shift time may fall at any time on any day.

Students residing in Disney College Program housing must be fully available 7 days a week for the duration of their program. Students who have their own accommodations must be available a minimum of 5 days* during non-peak seasons and a minimum of 7 days during peak seasons.

*must include Friday, Saturday, Sunday and two additional days during the week

Hours

Non-Peak Seasons
Non-Peak Seasons are defined as periods of time, typically throughout the months of September and into early October for the Fall programs and January and into early February for our Spring programs*. This is when we expect a decrease in attendance at our parks and resorts and as a result, hours are limited.

During these times, all Disney College Program participants will rarely be scheduled to work more than 28 hours per week.

* Non peak periods can vary due to unexpected fluctuations in park attendance. Therefore the months outlined above are subject to change.

Peak Seasons
Peak Seasons are defined as periods of time when we expect unusually high attendance at our parks and resorts. Specifically, during our peak summer months this is defined as Memorial Weekend through Labor Day Week and for the winter holiday season this includes: Thanksgiving weekend (4 days), including Thanksgiving Day, the weeks containing Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day plus any additional identified peak week.
