Frequently Asked Questions

Q. When do you start posting available internships?

A. Positions are continuously posted to fit the needs of the different sites and projects. Longer-term internships are customarily posted six to nine months in advance of the start date.

Q. Are candidates permitted to apply for multiple Disney Professional Internships?

A. We encourage students to only apply for their top three choices. Students may apply for more, however we recommend selecting only the internships that most closely match your qualifications and interests. Candidates must meet all minimum requirements at the time of application to be considered.

Q. When will students hear back about the positions they've applied for?

A. Disney Professional Recruiting receives hundreds of résumés for each internship that is posted. Due to the high volume of responses, we are only able to contact those applicants we are interested in interviewing. If a student is no longer being considered for a role, they will be notified via e-mail.

Q. I have already graduated from college. Can I apply for an internship?

A. Disney Professional Internships are reserved for those who are currently enrolled in college. For employment opportunities available for college graduates, visit disneycareers.com.

The only exception is for Disney's Animal Programs. Disney's Animal Program Professional Internships are available to individuals who graduated college within the past six months or one year prior to the date the application is submitted.

Q. I am graduating in May. Can I still apply for an internship?

A. You must be enrolled in a college or university taking at least one class during the semester prior to participating.

Q. Are there standard qualifications for internships?

A. Each internship requires that you are at least 18 years of age and are able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Additional requirements are different for each posting. Some require a minimum GPA, grade level completed and/or previous experience on the Disney College Program.

Please reference each individual posting for specific requirements prior to applying.

Q. Are there different lengths of Disney Professional Internships?

A. Yes, Disney has a variety of programs ranging from four weeks to one year, depending on the project and location. Details for each internship can be found on each individual posting.

Q. When and how do students find out if they were chosen for a Disney Professional Internship?

A. Once a candidate applies online for a Professional Internship, the application will be reviewed by a selection team and for roles; candidates will be contacted for a phone screen and/or secondary interview.

Once a candidate has submitted his or her application, it can take up to 12 weeks for the team to notify him or her of the final decision. Candidates are generally notified of the status of their application via e-mail.

Q. Are Disney Professional internships full-time positions?

A. Our Theme Parks and Resorts are open 365 days a year and run operations 24 hours a day. Availability requirements vary by area, but in general Professional Interns are expected to provide full availability during their internship and flexibility in scheduling is a requirement of employment. Professional Interns typically work 30-40 hours per week.

Q. Can Disney Professional Interns receive academic credit for their experience?

A. Some colleges and universities offer credit for Disney Professional Internships. Candidates are advised to work with their school to determine if credit can be awarded.

Q. What is appropriate attire for a Disney Professional Internship and are uniforms/costumes provided?

A. Professional Interns work in a variety of roles and locations and attire varies by location. Most interns wear their own professional attire at work, however some positions that include working in themed locations will be provided costumes (uniforms). All Disney Cast Members are required to comply with the "Disney Look."

Q. At the completion of a Disney Professional Internship, can participants apply to extend their program, or apply for different Disney College Program or Professional Internship position?
