Disney Education Courses
One potential way to earn credit and get a start on higher education is to successfully complete one of our two courses. The American Council on Education recommends both of the following courses for three semester hours of college credit. Each course is taught once per week lasting four hours in length. Please check with your desired learning institution to inquire as to whether they will recognize our classes for credit.
The two Disney Education Courses are:
Marketing You!
Unlike a traditional "Introduction to Marketing" course available at most business schools, this course engages students in how to market their skills of communication, customer service, problem solving, conflict resolution, decision-making, self-management, and creative thinking. Key elements include the development of a career focus and a personal marketing plan that encompasses the creation of a cover letter, resume, and networking strategy. The students will also learn interviewing and
negotiation techniques, and develop their own personal brand.
Organizational Leadership
This course analyzes the universal principles of leadership theory and its application within a personal and corporate environment. Instruction is designed to build repeatable and transferable leadership knowledge and skills.
Many institutions accept the American Council on Education (ACE) credit recommendations. To enroll in either the Disney Organizational Leadership Course or Marketing You, which are ACE-approved courses, all CareerStart participants must first complete, or be in the process of completing, the CareerStart Educational Series.
ACE Course
Many institutions accept the American Council on Education (ACE) credit recommendations or offer students credit for their Disney CareerStart Program experience through cooperative education programs, internship programs and/or independent study courses.
