Program Benefits

Earn real-world experience

More than 20,000 Cast Members work at the Disneyland® Resort in California. That makes our company the largest employer in Orange County, and it means we hire people in just about any job you can think of – including Entertainment, Horticulture, Information Technology, Communications, Marketing, Engineering, Health Services, Recreation, Finance, Public Relations and much more.

Once Disney CareerStart participants get a foot in the door working in our theme parks and hotels, it can open doors to many other opportunities. Because The Disneyland Resort is known around the world for its commitment to excellence, students will be talking about their experience on the Disney CareerStart Program in job interviews for the rest of their lives.

Build transferable skills

Although all Disney CareerStart participants may not want to pursue a career in the hospitality, entertainment or service industries, they will have the opportunity in the Disney CareerStart Program to learn skills that will be valuable in their future endeavors.

In their roles, participants will learn how to think on their feet and solve Guests' concerns on their own. With that kind of empowerment, our participants' self-confidence will improve, and their social and communication skills will grow.

Network with leaders and meet executives

Participants also will have the opportunity to make professional connections and talk to leaders about their own career and educational paths. Some of our top leaders began their Disney careers in front-line roles in our theme parks and hotels. Because we believe in hiring and promoting from within our own company, we invest in our Cast, and we offer Disney CareerStart participants many opportunities to grow and network with others.

Take part in personal- and career-development classes

All Disney CareerStart participants will have the opportunity to participate in personal and career development learning opportunities. Participants will be able to develop a customized learning plan. If participants plan to go to college in the future, this customized plan will help them set their learning on the right track. They also will learn to market their skills of communication, customer service, problem solving, conflict resolution, decision-making, self-management and creative thinking.

Because the Disney CareerStart Program role may be the first job our participants have, we want to be sure we’re providing them the tools and attention they need. These classes will help prepare participants to be successful in their transition into the workforce and to provide valuable insight for their future path.

Meet people from around the globe

Millions of people travel from all over the world to make their dreams come true at the Disneyland Resort. Disney CareerStart participants will come in contact with thousands of Guests each day.

Enjoy being a Cast Member

What else do we need to say? Cast Members in the Disney CareerStart Program will enjoy admission to our theme parks as well as on select discounts on food and merchandise.
