What is the Imagi-Nations Competition?
Imagi-Nations is a design competition created and sponsored by Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) in order to promote diversity. The competition enables participitants to showcase their talents and gain practical knowledge in design, with the opportunity to earn Internships and Associate opportunities.

What is an Imagineer?
Imagineering has become a purely Disney word. The name combines imagination with engineering to describe both what we do and who we are. Imagineers are responsible for the creation and expansion of all elements at the Disney theme parks and resorts. Every day, Imagineers bring art and science together to turn fantasy into reality and dreams into magic.

What disciplines work at Imagineering?
More than 140 disciplines exist at Imagineering including: artists, architects, engineers, writers, machinists, landscape designers, model makers, sound technicians, carpenters, producers, accountants, filmmakers, schedulers, estimators and more.

When is the competition held?
Finalists will be notified in early summer and are invited to WDI shortly after that to present their ideas to a panel of judges.

Are there internships available through this competition?
Each finalist will be reviewed for Internship and Associate opportunities at Imagineering and other Walt Disney Company business units.

What if I am not a member of one of the associations or organizations, can I still enter?
We encourage all participants to be a member of an Association, or 501 (c)3 Creative Arts Organization whose focus includes one of the following, or a student majoring in one of the disciplines below:

- Fine Art
- Digital Arts / Animation
- Theatrical Design/Production
- Creative Writing
- Interior Design
- Construction Management / Project Management
- Architecture
- Engineering

Does it cost me anything to enter?
There is no cost to enter the competition.

I feel that my art skills are not good enough, can I have someone else create my model, images, or other props for my entry?
No, all submitted media and ideas must be original and be the product of the individual or team member.

Do I have to submit a college transcript with my entry?
No, however you must submit a resume.

Other than myself, I’m not clear on who else needs to sign my entry form?
In addition to yours and your teammates' signatures, you must include one of the following signatures:

1. a University Department advisor
2. an Associate representative
3. a 501 (c)3 Creative Arts Organization

I was an Imagi-Nations finalist before, can I enter again?
No, because of the unique opportunity this competition provides, each participant who becomes a finalist may not submit again. If you submit and are not selected as a finalist, you are welcome to submit the next year as long as you remain qualified.

How long after I enter will I know if I’m a finalist?
Finalists will be notified in early summer 2007.

If I am selected as a finalist, where would the final presentations be?
You will be provided transportation to Walt Disney Imagineering in Glendale, California, where you will give your final presentation before a panel of judges.

Once finalists have presented their ideas to WDI, what is the next step?
The judges will select the top three groups. All submissions that place in the top three will be considered for a paid Internship or Associate opportunities at Walt Disney Imagineering and other Walt Disney Company business units.
