The Disney College Program Case Study Competition is
designed to provide students with an opportunity to leverage their learning in
the classroom and at their work locations to apply strategic thinking. Topics
for consideration may range from product development, resort enhancements,
transportation strategies, and as far as your creativity will take you!*
Students will present a project of their choosing to
a Disney leadership panel for final judging. All Disney College Program
students will be eligible to submit a proposal to the Disney College Education
Team for consideration. Twenty finalists will be chosen based on their project
proposals for presentation. Winners will receive scholarship money and
recognition for their achievements.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three finalists.
All decisions are final.
1st Prize - $1000 each
2nd Prize - $ 750 each
3rd Prize - $ 500 each
Please note the following
parameters:
Participants may enter as a part of a team of
three to five members. All submissions will be evaluated against one another,
regardless of number of contributors.
All teams will need to designate a Disney College
Program Education Team Instructor as their Project Advisor, to which each team
must submit bi-weekly project reports to track their progress.
One month prior to the final competition, all
students must submit a one-page overview of their ideas and a list of the
delivery contents of their presentations (i.e. PowerPoint, display boards,
report, etc.)
Please structure your presentation to be no more
than thirty minutes. This includes all visual support.
Submitted proposals must be solely the work of
the student or students who submitted it. Participants may not contribute to
more than one proposal.
Entries will become the sole property of The
Disneyland® Resort and will not be returned. All rights to use
and/or display these ideas will be retained by The Disneyland
Resort.
Judging Criteria:
Concept: Is the concept appealing,
interesting or exciting? Does the concept communicate a well-researched story
and theme?
Guest Experience: Are details on how our
Guests would interact with / enjoy the experience presented? Would the project
enhance Guest satisfaction?
Innovation: Does the concept demonstrate
creative innovation?
Business Acumen: Are the feasibility and
scope of the concept presented? Does the proposal present a business case?
Quality of Presentation: Is the concept
professionally prepared and presented? Is the concept locally organized and
presented?
