Application Process FAQs

How are students admitted into the Disney CareerStart Program?

Students must complete the following steps:

  1. Download the application and role check list
    Students must complete the application and role check list and bring it with them to the presentation. If you are viewing a online E-Presentation fax the completed application to
  2. Attend a presentation
    Presentation attendance is highly encouraged; however, if there is no presentation scheduled in the applicants� area, they may view the presentation online.
  3. Interview
    Students attending a presentation will sign up for interviews at the presentation, and those watching the presentation online will sign up for an interview immediately after the presentation. At their interview, students must bring their completed applications, printed from the application section of this site, and submit them to the recruiter.
  4. Wait for Notification
    After their interviews, the students� applications will be considered, and they will hear from their recruiter generally within 10-14 days.

What are the application requirements?

To apply, students must have graduated high school or received a GED in the past 18 months. Students who are currently high school seniors with an expected graduation date by the time of program start may also apply.

What type of work authorization do I need?

Participation in this program requires unrestricted work authorization.

I do not live in the United States, but I would like to work at the Walt Disney World® Resort. What should I do?

Walt Disney World Co. hires candidates living outside the United States for its International Programs. For more information, please access the official International Programs Web site at www.wdwcareers.com .

Is there a Summer program?

No. At this time there are no summer offerings.

When will recruiters be visiting schools?

We visit schools in the Southern California area each Fall and Spring. In the fall, we recruit for our Spring program only. In the spring, we recruit for our Fall programs only. The campus or citywide visits consist of a presentation that provides more detailed information about the program and the ability to interview with a recruiter immediately after the presentation, over the telephone, or the following morning.

If students miss the presentation in their area, can they still interview?

Yes, students can view the presentation online.

Should I bring a cover letter and r�sum� to the interview?

It is not necessary to bring a r�sum� to apply for the Disney CareerStart Program. However, students may bring them to their interviews if they wish.

If students are not accepted the first time they interview, can they try again?

A student is more than welcome to apply and interview during the following recruiting season (the following semester). However, students can apply and interview only once per semester.
