How often should I reapply?

If you think you're truly a good fit for Lucasfilm, we recommend checking our jobs site and reapplying every six months or when there's a change in your contact information or if you have an updated resume.

If I'm not authorized to work in the country of application, can I still apply for a position?

Lucasfilm is proud of its incredibly diverse organization. We have talented people that come from all over the globe. The requirements for obtaining a work visa are complicated and not all jobs are eligible. For the most part, you'll need an advanced degree or several years of applicable work experience to be eligible.

How long will my resume be kept on file?

If we feel that your experience and skill set are a good fit but we don't have any current positions, your resume will remain active for one year. Otherwise, all resumes are archived for two years after the date of your application.

To increase my chances of working at Lucasfilm, what software and programming languages should I be proficient in?

Lucasfilm uses a variety of software dependent on the position in which you're applying. Concept artists use Modo, Photoshop, Z Brush, Painter and Sketch-up. Texture artists use Mari and Photoshop, Modellers use Maya, Z Brush and Mudbox, Layout artists use proprietary software, Creature TD's use Maya and Houdini, Animators use Maya, FX TD's use Houdini and a variety of proprietary packages, Compositors use Nuke, Lighting TD's use Katana, Generalists use a variety but 3DS Max and Maya is a plus, and Roto artists use proprietary software. It's important to note that you should only apply for positions for which you actually possess the necessary skill set. Applying for jobs without the proper qualifications will deliver the wrong message and work against your goal of working with us.
