Boomer and Brady couldn't look more different from each other - but the 16 year olds are twins! Anxious Brady and laid back Boomer seem like pretty typical teens but their lives take a surprising twist when they discover that they are the heirs to the throne of a remote island kingdom, Kinkow. As the boys learn to rule the mystical island together, they have to contend with scheming Lanny, who wants their throne - plus mummies, a cute girl with an overprotective dad, overactive volcanoes, and the many rules and taboos of Kinkow. It turns out, on this island there's always a crazy challenge - from Waka Waka bugs to the mysterious tarantula people. Dealing with all that will definitely take a Pair of Kings!
The self proclaimed "older twin" Brady is a bit of a worrywart, but he's also brave and has a strong sense of responsibility. He tends to get nervous in social situations and sometimes puts his foot in his mouth, but he's ready to do his best to tackle the big job of being a king.
Boomer has enough confidence for both twins - too much in fact. He's ready to charge into situations without thinking them through and is always surprised when they don't work out as planned. He might be a little lazy and not the most dedicated monarch in history, but he IS a devoted brother (even if he won't always admit it) and would go to the ends of the earth for Brady.
Brady is hopelessly smitten by Mason's teenage daughter Mikayla - she's not just pretty, she's smart, fun and self-confident. Not to mention her mad martial arts skills! Her dad Mason might cramp her style occasionally by being overprotective, but he's also a great role model. Mikayla uses her common sense and her devotion to her beloved island home to weather most problems in life.
Mason is the twin's body guard and advisor. Strong, wise and reliable, he's like the father they never knew - although even Mason can sometimes get fed up with their antics. That doesn't mean that he's willing to let them make eyes at Mikayla, though!
Lanny would be completely devoted and loyal to the king of Kinkow, as long as that king was him. And he would have been king if not for the twins. Lanny can't quite get over his disappointment, and schemes nonstop to reclaim the throne of Kinkow. He's crafty, clever and determined, a worthy opponent, even though his schemes have failed miserably...so far
