iTunes: Customize with Playlists
  • Add a soundtrack to your life.

At the gym, in the car, cooking dinner or just relaxingyour life has a soundtrack and it's waiting for you to create it.

  • Playlists

Add music to your daily routine with playlists. Playlists and Smart Playlists are subcategories in your music library - Just create a playlist in iTunes, drag songs over, and you're ready to listen. iTunes makes it that easy. And now you can even create playlists with your iPod on the go. iTunes will automatically detect them next time you auto-sync.

Create a playlist for the gym, for driving, for your next party. Organize love songs, or your current favorites. Then share them. Publish your favorite mix* on the iTunes Music Store as an iMix or make a custom CD. It's as easy as pushing the 'Burn' Button. Include a track list, and make CD covers using the original album art. Think Holiday gifts!

*songs must be available in iTunes.

  • Be Notorious. iMix.

An iMix is a playlist that's been published on the iTunes Music Store. Click the arrow on the playlist and you'll be at the publishing area within iTunes. You can write liner notes about the songs, explaining your influences. From there you can tell all your friends by sending a link to your iMix in an email. The email uses a mosaic of cover art from your purchased albums.

  • How to create a playlist

You don't need to be a techno whiz to create a playlist.

    First, choose File, New Playlist.
    Then, name it.
Finally...drag the songs over from your library.

You're not moving the songs. They remain in your library and they can be on multiple playlists at a time.
