Timbuktu — A city in the West African nation of Mali; a major commercial center until its invasion by Morocco in 1593.

 

Tower of London — A series of buildings, dating back to 1077, which have served as fortress, palace, prison, and British tourist attraction. Also the place where all enemies of the magician's government are brought for inquisition and punishment.

 

Trafalgar Square — The most central public space in London, built in honor of Admiral Lord Nelson, Britain's most celebrated sea lord; a major tourist attraction. Also noted for its pigeons.

 

Underwater Palace of Kos — A palace on the island of Kos that Bartimaeus claims was destroyed by the careless use of a talisman.

 

Vltava — The longest river of the Czech Republic, it flows along the banks of the Prague Castle. Bartimaeus once attempted to jump across the river in a single bound in an effort to win his freedom from his master.

 

Wandsworth Park — A park near Balham in South London; the site where Kitty and Jakob were inflicted with the Black Tumbler.

 

Westminster Abbey — A majestic Gothic cathedral and major landmark in London; the site where many great magicians of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries were entombed.

 

Westminster Bridge — The seven-arch, wrought-iron bridge that extends over the river Thames in London.

 

Westminster Hall — An ancient hall within the Palace of Westminster; used for entertaining, state trials, and public ceremonies.

 

Zagros Mountains — A mountain range dominating western Iran. Bartimaeus was allowed to freely explore the region during his service to Ptolemy.
