Nimrud — An ancient city of Assyria. According to Bartimaeus, Nimrud's gatekeepers were djinn in the form of winged lions.
Nineveh — An ancient city, capital of the Assyrian Empire, on the Tigris River; the leader of the ancient world until its fall in 612 B.C. Bartimaeus claims to have been sent there by Babylonian magicians on a diplomatic mission.
Old Town — The oldest part of Prague, which hosted the largest market until the beginning of the twentieth century; home to many of Prague's most famous monuments.
Ombos — vvAn ancient city in Egypt; strategically located on top of a hill. In Nathaniel's London, many artifacts from the region are imported and sold at the exclusive Central Zone of the City District Market in London.
Other Place — A realm removed from normal physical laws where magical creatures originate.
Parthenon — A Greek temple sacred to the goddess Athena, it is considered to be a masterpiece of Greek architecture. Bartimaeus claims that it was built by Atlas under the orders of the Greek magician Phidias.
Persepolis — The capital of the Achaemenid Empire, founded in 518 B.C.; a major supplier to Pinn's Accoutrements.
