Sennacherib — King of Assyria circa 700 B.C. Bartimaeus claims to have been sent to assassinate this king by orders of Babylonian magicians.
Sindra, Mr. — Nathaniel's short-tempered music teacher.
Stanley — A paperboy and member of the Resistance; capable of perceiving faint, flickering radiance given off from any object containing magical force. He lured Nathaniel into an alley and stole his scrying glass.
Tallow, Julius — A third level magician and Head of Internal Affairs; A short, burly man of bullish build and temperament, distinguished by an unusual yellowish complexion.
Timothy — A member of the Resistance; capable of hearing magical activity.
Underwood, Arthur — A middle-ranking magician who worked for the Ministry of Internal Affairs and served as grudging mentor to Nathaniel.
Underwood, Martha — Arthur Underwood's diminutive wife and close friend to Nathaniel.
Whitwell, Jessica — The Minister of Security and head of the Tower of London; a very powerful and celebrated magician. Reckoned to be one of the four most potent magicians in the government. [pg. 69]
Withers — A junior level magician who was involved in a plot to overtake the government.
