A Very Disney Christmas
Disney and the holidays have always been a natural match: they're both about magic, fun, and families. It's not surprising that from the very beginning, the holiday spirit has had a home at Disney. This holiday season, let's take a look back at how Disney has welcomed the holidays through the years.
As far back as 1931, audiences were treated to Disney Christmas shorts at the local movie house, at a time when a cartoon or two was a delightful part of the movie-going experience. As Disney Archivist Dave Smith explains, "While Walt Disney did not like making holiday-themed short cartoons, because their use in theaters was limited to only a short period each year, he did create a number of them that were released at Christmastime. YOUR QUESTION
This may be a dumb question, but I remember when I was a kid (in the '70s) there was a stop on the Monorail at the Disneyland Hotel. I think it even went through the lobby. My brother, who is a "cast member," swears it's impossible. Am I wrong?

DAVE'S ANSWER
While the Monorail at Walt Disney World goes through the Contemporary Resort, the Disneyland Monorail never went through the lobby of the Disneyland Hotel, only stopping at the Monorail Station at the Travelport just outside the hotel.
