As a kid, I had two dreams -- one of them was to work in Disney animation and the other was to direct movies. I was very fortunate to get to do both on 'Meet the Robinsons.'"
That's Steve Anderson talking -- the director of the new Disney film "Meet the Robinsons," in theaters March 30. ASK DAVE
YOUR QUESTION
I understand that the voice of Jiminy Cricket was an entertainer named Ukulele Ike. Can you tell us anything about the man and his relationship with Disney?
- Walt, 55, Alexandria, VA
DAVE'S ANSWER
Cliff Edwards, the performer who also appeared on stage as Ukulele Ike, was the original voice of Jiminy Cricket in "Pinocchio" in 1940. He later voiced the character in "Fun and Fancy Free" and in later television cartoons. Edwards passed away in 1971, and Eddie Carroll now does the voice of Jiminy.
