Healthy Families Get a Helping Hand for the New Year

This time of year, many of us resolve that it's time to take a hard look at what we're eating, and make some changes for the better. One small piece of the healthy-eating puzzle has gotten a little easier, as The Walt Disney Company rolls out new guidelines for food products that carry the Disney name and characters.

YOUR QUESTION
What brought about the idea of having bands from different schools march through the Park during the day at Disney World? And what was the first one to do it?

DAVE'S ANSWER
It seems as if guest high school bands started performing at Walt Disney World in conjunction with its first holiday festival. The earliest one I found listed in a press release or entertainment schedule is the St. Petersburg High School Green Devil Band on December 18, 1971. Eventually the Magic Music Days program began attracting hundreds of high school and college bands every year.
