A: Welcome to Tradewinds 2, a game of swashbuckling sea combat and trade. Play as a pirate or merchant, and stake your claim in the Caribbean. Fight pirates, go on hundreds of tasks, trade goods in 20 different ports and send your enemies to Davy Jones' locker. Do you have what it takes to become a true legend of the seas?
There are two game modes in Tradewinds 2: Story and Free Trade. In Story mode, your goal is to amass a fortune by trading goods and battling pirates, all the while hunting down the treacherous pirate Sebastian Laroche. The primary difference in this game mode is that town Governors will give you tasks to accomplish. In many cases, completing these tasks will not only reward you financially, but will bring you closer to Laroche! Each character has a unique storyline - try playing with each of them!
In Free Trade mode, the town Governors will not have tasks for you to complete. In this mode, your goal is simply to build your fortune by any means possible.
Hint: If this is your first time playing Tradewinds 2, start a game in Story mode. This will introduce you to the game without making things too difficult early on.
