The live-action version of the animated film features Close in the role of the treacherous Cruella De Vil. Cruella owns and runs the fashionable Manor De Vil, where she caters to her two passions in life: clothes and fur. After discovering a litter of dalmatian puppies at the house of her most talented designer, Anita (Joely Richardson), she envisions a new line of spotted apparel. When told the dogs are not for sale, Cruella embarks on a wild puppy-chase that has the entire canine kingdom racing to rescue the litter.
