WALLE VISITS A SCHOOL CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN, NOR WILL A PURCHASE IMPROVE ONE'S CHANCES OF WINNING.
- SPONSOR: ABC, Inc., dba Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, 500 South Buena Vista St., Burbank, CA 91521-1379, is solely responsible for all aspects of this contest ("Contest").
- ENTRY: The winner of this Contest will receive a visit from a robot resembling the character WallE ("Robot") from the motion picture entitled "WallE" at a school designated by the winner. During the period commencing at 12:01 A.M., April 7, and ending at 11:59:59 P.M., May 18, 2008 ("Entry Period"), you may enter this Contest via the Internet as a registered member ("Member") of Disney.com ("Website") by: [1] visiting the Website, [2] logging in by providing your Member Name and Password, [3] following entry instructions to submit your written essay "Why WallE should visit your school" in five hundred (500) words or less ("Submission") and [4] clicking on the "submit" button ("Entry"). For purposes of these Official Rules ("Rules"), all times are Pacific Daylight Time. If you are not already a Member, you may easily register to become a Member for free through the link on the site: "Register" by filling out the simple Registration Form. Upon then becoming a Member, you may enter the Contest by following the above instructions. Only valid email addresses (individually, "Address") will be accepted for registration as determined solely by the Sponsor; and, at Sponsor's sole discretion, you will be disqualified if you create invalid Addresses with intent to affect the integrity of the Contest. Normal Internet access and usage charges imposed by your online service will apply. It is your sole responsibility to notify Sponsor if you change your Address. To do so, go to http://register.go.com/disney/GuestServices/YourAccount/login, log into your Membership Account, click on the "Modify" icon and follow the instructions on how to change the Address.
- LIMITATIONS: All Entries must be received by 11:59:59 P.M., May 18, 2008. Only one Entry per person/Address (regardless of whether one person has more than one Address or more than one person use the same Address). In event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an Entry, the Entry will be deemed to be submitted by the person in whose name the Address is registered. Entries by any method other than set forth above in Section 2 are void. Any use of automated or programmed methods of effecting Entry is prohibited. Open only to persons 14 or older upon entering who are legal residents of, and physically located within, the 50 states or D. C. (collectively, "Territory") and not employees of Sponsor; its parent, subsidiary, affiliated or successor companies; the advertising, promotional or fulfillment agencies of any of them (individually and collectively, "Entities"); nor members of their households or immediate families. Neither the Entities, nor any of their officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents or representatives (individually and collectively, "Releasees") are responsible for Entries from persons residing, or physically located, outside the Territory; Entries that are altered, delayed, deleted, destroyed, forged, fraudulent, improperly accessed, inaccurate, incomplete, interrupted, irregular in any way, late, lost, misdirected, multiple, non-delivered, stolen, tampered with, unauthorized, unintelligible or otherwise not in compliance with these Rules; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections; miscommunications; failed phone, computer hardware or software or telephone transmissions; technical failures; unauthorized human intervention; traffic congestion; garbled or jumbled transmissions; undeliverable emails resulting from any form of active or passive email filtering; insufficient space in entrant's email account to receive email; or other errors of any kind, whether due to electronic, mechanical or human error or other causes; even if caused by the negligence of any of the Releasees. Each of such potential Entries will be disqualified and any attempt by you to use multiple email accounts to register more than once may result in your disqualification at Sponsor's sole discretion. Void where prohibited or restricted by law and subject to all applicable federal, state, local and municipal laws and regulations.
- PRIZE: One (1) GRAND PRIZE: A visit by the Robot to a school designated by the winner on or about the week ending June 13, 2008. Approximate retail value: $0. Prize is not redeemable for cash or transferable. No substitution allowed except at Sponsor's sole discretion, a prize of equal or greater value may be substituted. The prize will be awarded provided it is validly claimed by May 22, 2008, after which no alternate winner will be selected, nor unclaimed prize awarded.
- PROCEDURES: Entries will only be accepted during the Entry Period. On or about May 19, 2008, the potential winner will be selected from all eligible Entries as determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion, on the basis of 33% on creativity, 33% on inspirational, and 33% on uniqueness.
- WINNER: Potential winner will be notified by email on or about May 19, 2008. All legal responsibilities of a minor (as defined by state of primary residence) under the Rules will be assumed by a parent/legal guardian ("Parent"). At the sole discretion of the Sponsor, disqualification, forfeiture and the selection of an alternate winner may result from any of the following: [1] potential winner's failure to respond to notification within one (1) days after its transmission; [2] the return of an email notification as undeliverable after one (1) attempts; [3] potential winner's failure to provide Sponsor with satisfactory proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the Address associated with the winning Entry; [4] potential winner's failure to provide Sponsor with satisfactory proof of age, identity and residency; [5] potential winner's failure to validly claim the prize before 5:00 P.M. May 22, 2008; [6] potential winner's designated school's failure to allow the appearance of the Robot and [7] any other non-compliance with Rules. In the event of a prize forfeiture, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, award or not award the forfeited prize to an alternate winner. Any taxes are solely the responsibility of the winner.
- PRIVACY POLICY/DATA COLLECTION: During the registration process, you will be asked for your Address, which may be used to contact you if you are a potential winner, and you will be able to opt-in or opt-out from usage of your personal information in receiving communications that are not in the administration of this Contest. - CONTEST MATERIALS: "Contest Materials" include all information and material submitted by you in connection with the Contest, including the Submission and all other forms, contracts or releases required to be submitted by you as a contestant, whether required by Sponsor prior to or after Entry. By entering this Contest, you agree that you hereby assign, transfer and grant solely to the Sponsor all rights to the Contest Materials.
- CONDITIONS: By entering this Contest, you agree, represent and warrant that: [1] you will abide by and be bound by the Rules and the Sponsor's decisions, which shall be final in all respects; [2] the Entry becomes solely the Sponsor's property and will not be acknowledged or returned; [3] you release and hold harmless the Releasees from any and all liability for claims, injuries, losses or damages of any kind, including without limitation, death and bodily injury, resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from the awarding, delivery, acceptance, use, misuse, possession, loss or misdirection of the prize; participation in the Contest or any Contest-related activity or travel or from any interaction with, or downloading of, computer Contest information; [4] the Releasees do not make any representation, warranty or guarantee, express or implied, relating to the Contest; [5] the winner's acceptance of the prize constitutes the grant to Sponsor and assigns of an unconditional right to use winner's name, address (city and state only), voice, likeness, photograph, biographical and prize information and/or statements about the promotion for any publicity, advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law; [6] the Releasees are not responsible for typographical or other errors in the offer or administration of this Contest, including but not limited to: errors in the advertising, Rules and selection and announcement of the winner; [7] the Releasees are not responsible for any inability of the winner to accept or use the prize for any reason and [8] Sponsor has the right to modify these Rules at its sole discretion.
