For the first time ever, you can watch a live webcast of the Disney Teacher Awards! Watch as 44 teachers selected from more than 75,000 nominations nationwide vie for special recognition as the 2006 Disney Teacher of the Year and four other Outstanding Teacher distinctions. This year's special guests include Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Bart Johnson and Alyson Reed of Disney Channel's " High School Musical!" The gala will be streamed via Windows Media Player and RealPlayer, so tune in early if you need to download the appropriate "plug-in" in prior to the webcast.

In celebration of their creativity, innovative teaching methods and ability to inspire students while actively engaging them in learning, following are the recipients of the 2006 Disney Teacher Awards. Chosen from more than 75,000 nominations nationwide, each Honoree will receive $10,000 from the awards program and a trip to Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., from July 29 - August 3, for an awards gala, professional development and fun in the theme park. In addition, each Honoree's school will receive $5,000. Congratulations to each teacher!
