Pamela B. Atkins
Will Davis Elementary
Austin, Texas
"Everybody's a Winner! I believe each student is gifted, special and unique in his/her own way. I help students discover hidden gifts and talents, and aim to positively motivate them to explore new frontiers and to be successful learners. Through integrated physical education lessons, enrichment activities, and thematic teaching, all Davis Dolphins are motivated, active learners who have lit the fire of knowledge and are leaping ahead! Go Davis Dolphins! You never know what you can do until you TRY!"
-- Pam
"Pam possesses a wonderful balance of intellect and positive energy. She is creative and learns quickly. Pam masterfully adapts new ideas to fit current instruction. The end result is a quality program."
-- Dr. Karin Anderson, Assistant Principal
Pam subscribes to Dr. Lazear's "Multiple Intelligences of Learning" focusing on the ninety- nine percent of elementary students that are tactile-kinesthetic learners - students learning through physical activity. As a result, she implemented a class portfolio assessment model that offers a look at students' overall abilities, strengths, and areas in need of improvement. Through this assessment, Pam integrates language arts, mathematics, critical thinking, decision-making, goal setting, and self-management.
