Environmental
Protection
�Environmentality�
reflects The Walt Disney Company�s belief that respect for the
environment is part of the how we conduct business around the
world. As part of the company�s commitment to the environment, DisneyHand
supports several environmental
protection programs, such as Jiminy Cricket�s Environmentality
Challenge, the Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund and more. Jiminy Cricket�s Environmentality Challenge is an environmental
protection program that consists of a partnership between The
Walt Disney Company and the states of California and Florida. The initiative encourages fifth-grade students to think more
about their environment and implement projects that demonstrate

Disney
VoluntEARS
In
addition to nurturing ideas children�s ideas for environmental
solutions, The Walt Disney Company helps children in need. In
2001, the Disney VoluntEARS
celebrated Walt
Disney�s 100th birthday by having a global celebration
of children and assisted numerous children in need, along with
charities of Disney. As
part of the effort, VoluntEARS also supported children�s charity
organizations including the Ronald McDonald House Charities, children�s
hospitals and day care centers.
VoluntEARS helped with projects including renovations,
charity walks, building homes and many others.
The
VoluntEARS play an instrumental role in many philanthropic initiatives
supported by DisneyHand, and they embody the spirit of volunteerism.
The VoluntEARS program builds on a philosophy established
by Walt Disney, company founder, of applying the same enthusiasm
for innovative, creative ideas to the area of community involvement
as he did to motion picture, television and theme park development.
As a testament to the commitment of the company�s dedication
to volunteerism, Disney VoluntEARS around the world participated
in more than 1,000 projects and programs, contributed in excess
of 352,000 community service hours and filled 83,000 volunteer
