SENIOR LEVEL DESIGNER
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Level Designer to join our team, working on a 3rd-person action game for the 360/PS3.
Responsibilities
- Review and provide feedback on levels to improve their quality and fun factor.
- Mentor less experienced designers in best practices and processes.
- Identify, design and drive implementation of tools and processes.
- Work with mechanics designers to implement features and balance AI.
- Build level geometry to a rough "grayblock" state in collaboration with the world art team.
- Implement gameplay into levels (including AI pathing, scripted events, placement of interactive objects, spawning enemies, etc.) in an iterative environment.
- Identify asset requirements and coordinate their delivery with the production team.
- Create detailed paper designs and documentation of levels based on high-level gameplay goals.
- Deliver high quality and compelling levels on schedule.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of industry experience in a level design role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and takes pride in delivering the best product possible.
- At least 2 shipped titles, preferably on the 360/PS3 platforms.
- Ability to take feedback from multiple sources and prioritize implementation in the level.
- Creative thinker who can find the fun in a level.
- Solid understanding of game mechanics and structure.
- A passion for making AAA quality games.
Pluses
- Proficiency with the Unreal engine.
- Experience with 3rd Person action games.
- Programming or art experience.
- Multiple published titles.
- Portfolio of previous levels.
