Walsh, Bill (1913-1975)
- His name is not that well-known, but Bill Walsh became one of the most
successful producers of all time in the 1960s, with such hits as "The Shaggy
Dog," "The Absent-Minded Professor," and "Mary Poppins." He had begun at the
Disney Studio writing the Mickey Mouse comic strip, and was later asked
by Walt to lead the company into the television age by producing and writing
the first Disney TV shows, and eventually producing both the spectacularly
successful "Davy Crockett" mini-series and the "Mickey Mouse Club."
