Technicolor - In the early
1930s, the
Technicolor Corporation perfected its three-
strip color process, which enabled motion
pictures to depict all the colors of the rainbow.
Walt Disney foresightedly signed an exclusive
agreement to use Technicolor for cartoons for
two years, gaining a significant head start on
other animation studios. "Flowers and Trees" was
the first Technicolor Disney cartoon; all
subsequent Silly Symphonies were made in
color, and within three years, the Mickey Mouse
cartoons had switched to Technicolor also.
