Ryman, Herb (1910-1989)
- What would you do if Walt Disney called you and asked you to join him
for a weekend and draw the first artistic rendering of Disneyland? Herb
Ryman faced that decision. He had been a motion picture studio art director
when Walt made the call, and Herb's agreeing to help set him on course
for a career at WED, helping to design all of the Disney parks. His concept
paintings were genuine works of art and inspired the designers with their
ability to create and emphasize a theme; he could rightly be called one
of the first artists of the "theme park."
