Nine Old Men - President Franklin D. Roosevelt had referred to the justices who sat on the Supreme Court as the Nine Old Men; Walt Disney countered that he had his Nine Old Men too. These nine animators, who in the mid- 1950s handled the key directing animator tasks at the Studio, were Les Clark, Marc Davis, Ollie Johnston, Milt Kahl, Ward Kimball, Eric Larson, John Lounsbery, Wolfgang Reitherman, and Frank Thomas.
