Lincoln, Abraham - The President Abraham Lincoln attraction originally designed for the 1964 New York World's fair. When the Mr. Lincoln exhibit was first set up for the World�s Fair, the technology for Audio-animatronic figures was brand new -- and quite chancy. Surges in electrical power would make the 16th president twitch, as if he were having �some kind of a fit,� according to Disney Imagineer John Hench. Nevertheless, audiences were astounded when the Audio-animatronic-driven Mr. Lincoln actually stood up. One reporter found the mechancial figure so realistic that he later reported he left the stage to shake hands. �We never could figure that out,� said Imagineer John Hench.
