Huemer, Dick (1898-1979)
- As a man
wearing many hats at the Disney Studio, Dick
Huemer at different times served as animator,
director, storyman, and comic strip writer.
Because of his knowledge of music, Walt
selected Huemer to be story director on
Fantasia. He later lent his talents to other
features during the 1940s, most notably "Dumbo,"
which he co-wrote with Joe Grant. At the end of
his career, he spent almost two decades
working for the Comic Strip Department, writing
a daily True-Life Adventures panel for
newspapers.
