Hannah, Jack (1913-1994)
- As one of the
premier directors of the short cartoons at the
Disney Studio from the 1930s to the 1950s,
Jack Hannah helmed over 75 films, eight of
which were nominated for Academy Awards.
His unit's specialty was the Donald Duck
cartoons. When the Studio ceased making
shorts, Hannah was pressed into service on the
television show, and later helped further Walt's
legacy by heading a character animation
program at CalArts for many years.
