Designer - The move into
theme park
production at Disney created a need for a new
talent, a designer. The designers were
responsible for determining how the attractions
at Disneyland and the later parks would look
and operate. Working for WED Enterprises
(later Walt Disney Imagineering) the Disney
designers, with their backgrounds in art,
architecture, graphics, and engineering, gained
an impressive reputation for being able to
"imagineer" attractions, buildings, shops, and
restaurants which were unlike those in any
other amusement park. In striving for top
quality, the designers spent more, but the
results of their efforts have stood the test of
time, providing magical experiences for park
visitors for over four decades.
