Cottrell, Bill (1906-1995)
- Bill joined Disney
as a cameraman shortly after the birth of Mickey
Mouse, and soon became a relative of Walt's,
marrying his wife's sister. Walt discovered Bill
had a good story sense, so he moved him into
the story department where he contributed to
such films as "Pinocchio," "Melody Time," "Alice in
Wonderland," and "Peter Pan." As a member of
"El Groupo" which went to Latin America in
1941, he worked on story for "Saludos Amigos"
and "The Three Caballeros." In 1952, Walt
tapped Bill to help form WED Enterprises, and
there he was a major force in the planning and
construction of Disneyland.
