Carousel of Progress - A Carousel of Progress, exhibit for the General Electric pavilion at the 1964 World's Fair in New York. The Carousel of Progress chronicled the advent of electricity in the home. GE was particularly interested in getting the most out of Walts magic at the Fair. The company had just been involved in a price-fixing scandal, and it hoped that its image would be improved by the clever display seen by millions of visitors. Still, GE executives frustrated Walts efforts to such an extent that he considered quitting the project. The exhibit was brought back to Disneyland, where it opened some months after Walt's death. This postcard from the 1964 Worlds Fair shows the General Electric Exhibit, which was home to Progressland.
