Anderson, Ken (1909-1993)
- Walt Disney
depended on Ken Anderson as one of the key
creative designers at the Disney Studio. Having
studied architecture in college, he was able to
call upon that knowledge to help Walt include
innovative perspective shots in films like "Three
Orphan Kittens." Later he became one of the
Studio's prime character designers, being
credited on numerous features as art director or
art supervisor. He would create most of the
characters in "Robin Hood," for example, as well
as Shere Khan and Elliott the dragon. In the
1950s, Walt pulled Ken away from animation
for several years to design portions of
Fantasyland in Disneyland park.
