]]> How does an adult access Parental Controls?]]> To access Parental Controls for your child's Pixie Hollow account, you must become a Parental Authority.]]> How do I become a Parental Authority?]]> Visit the Account Manager page, where you will be asked to either log in to your existing account or create a new account.]]> Once you are logged in, click on the Link an Existing Account button to link your child's account to your account.]]>
Once linked, have your child log in to their account, click the My Account tab, and then click Enable Parental Controls. An e-mail will be sent to the parent's e-mail address with instructions on how to set your child's chat level and become a Parental Authority. To see which parent's e-mail address is on file, have your child click the Account Details tab on their account page.]]> How do I change my child's chat settings?]]> To change your child's chat settings, you must first become the Parental Authority on their account. After you have become their account's Parental Authority, please follow the steps below:]]>
  • Go to the Account Manager page on the web site and log into your account.

  • Once you are logged in, click on the button labeled with your child's account name, located on the left hand side of the Account Manager.
    • ]]>
  • Next, click on the Community Settings tab located at the top right.
    • ]]>
  • On this tab, you can now set your child’s chat settings to any of the chat levels. Descriptions for each chat level can be viewed by selecting the chat option and reading the descriptive text below.

  • Click the "Save Changes" button in the lower right to save the new chat settings for your child.
]]> What are the different chat options available in the Pixie Hollow game?]]> SpeedChat]]>
  • This is open to all Fairies. Chat away!
  • SpeedChat uses a set list of words and phrases that Fairies select from a drop-down menu.
  • To use SpeedChat phrases: Click on the Lightning Bolt icon to the left of the keyboard chat interface at the bottom of your screen, then click on the message you want from the SpeedChat drop-down menus. Every Fairy in the area will hear what you have to say unless you are chatting in Whisper mode.
]]> SpeedChat Plus]]>
  • This is open to all Fairies, but it can be turned off using Disney's Parental Controls feature.
  • SpeedChat Plus is a keyboard chat system that uses a dictionary of Fairy-friendly words.
  • This chat setting lets Fairies chat with each other by typing words that are in the game's SpeedChat Plus dictionary. If you type in a word that is not in the dictionary, the word will flash in red and you'll have to change it before you can send your message.
  • This chat is filtered and moderated. Fairies can alert the Never Council of any bad behavior.

]]> Do Parental Controls only govern children?]]> Once you have enabled Parental Controls, those controls will manage the account of anyone in your family whose age is under 18. At 18 the account will be given access to manage its own community settings.]]> The Pixie Hollow Code of Conduct]]> 1. Always be kind and respect other Fairies. The Never Council does not tolerate any swearing, cheating, bullying, or any kind of mean or inappropriate behavior. Any Fairy who does not follow these rules while playing will be dealt with appropriately.]]>
2. Never reveal any of your real world personal information. The best way to make sure you stay safe online is to NEVER share your real name, phone number, home address, e-mail, social networking site information, or pictures of yourself with ANYONE. Also never exchange account information such as your member name or password with anyone under any circumstances.]]>
3. Chat nicely with other Fairies. The Never Council will not permit talk about drugs, sex, race, or topics that may disturb other Fairies. Any Fairy who does not respect the peace of Pixie Hollow will be asked to leave the game.]]>
4. No cheating. Any use of third party programs is not allowed. Fairies who use any third party programs while playing risk being permanently banned from the game.]]>
